ABOUT
Jennifer Schuck started her
court reporting career in 1993.
She holds the highest
designations offered through the
National Court Reporters
Association, RDR, CCP and CBC. |
|
After reporting for 10 years,
Jennifer attended comprehensive
training to become a realtime
captioner. She currently
provides CART services for
individuals who are deaf or
hard of hearing, both in the
business and educational
setting, onsite and remotely.
She provides
these services for large
national and international
conferences as well.
Jennifer captions
newscasts, sporting events and
city council meetings. She also
provides realtime court
reporting services for complex
litigation.
In 2005, Jennifer placed sixth
in the National Court Reporters
Association Realtime Competition
with a final score of 98.711%.
In July 2008, Jennifer placed
fourth in the same competition
with a final score of 97.23%.
This competition consists of
both 200 wpm literary and 225
wpm Q&A.

NCRA DESIGNATIONS:

Certified
Realtime
Reporter
(CRR)
Consists of a
skills test.
The skills
portion consists
of 5 minutes of
literary
material
dictated at 180
words per minute
(wpm), (grading
based on the
accuracy of the
realtime
transcript
produced without
any editing).
The reporter
must hold an RPR
to be eligible
to sit for this
examination.

Broadcast
Captioner (CBC)
Consists of a
written
knowledge and
skills test.
(Skills test is
the Certified Realtime
Reporter exam).
This exam is
designed to
measure the
knowledge,
skill, and
ability of the
candidate to
produce an
accurate,
simultaneous
translation and
display of
broadcasts
utilizing
realtime
translation
software.

Certified CART
Provider
(CCP)
Consists of a
written
knowledge and
skills test.
(Skills test is
the Certified Realtime
Reporter exam)
This exam is
designed to
measure the
knowledge,
skill, and
ability of the
candidate to
produce
complete,
accurate,
simultaneous
translation and
display of live
proceedings
utilizing
computer-aided
translation for
individuals who
are deaf or hard
of hearing.

Registered Merit
Reporter (RMR)
Consists of a
written
knowledge and
skills test. The
skills portion
consists of 5
minutes of
literary
material
dictated at 200
words per minute
(wpm), jury
charge dictated
at 240 wpm, and
testimony/Q&A
dictated at 260
wpm (grading
based on the
accuracy of the
transcripts
produced).
The reporter
must hold an RPR
to be eligible
to sit for this
examination.

Diplomate
Reporter
(RDR)
Consists of a
written
knowledge test.
The highest
level of
certification
available to
court reporters.
This examination
is designed to
test the
advanced
knowledge and
experience of
seasoned
reporters. The
reporter must
hold an RMR to
be eligible to
sit for this
examination.
